How often should you cut your grass
Cutting your grass at the right times and height is paramount to having a lush and well looking after lawn.
This guide is based on whether your lawnmower has three height cutting settings:
End of March cut on the highest cutting height of lawnmower on dry grass.
Every 2 weeks on the highest cutting height of lawnmower.
May and June
Slightly lower the cutting height setting and cut every 10 days.
July and August
Lower the cutting height, cut every 2 weeks.
If weather very hot, raise the mowing height and cut when it needs it.
If the weather is wet, slightly lower the cutting height setting and cut every 10 days.
Cutting height same as July and August (every 2 weeks). If your lawn gets full of moss, raise cutting height.
Raise cutting height and cut every 2-3 weeks.
Same as October.
Throughout the winter
Do not use your lawnmower on frosty grass. Keep it tidy by giving it a cut when the lawn is as dry as possible.
