How to improve your Pinterest monthly viewers
Having been on the Pinterest platform for the past year, I want to share with you the method I use to improve my monthly viewers. So, how to improve your Pinterest monthly viewers?
They say nothing in life is for free, but I really want to try to change that by helping people in the same position I was in when I started out.
The most important thing to remember is that all social media platforms needs to be fed frequently. Treat each as though it was a baby and you will see your monthly viewers increase.
So, how did I do it?
Boards
- When generating a Pinterest board, it needs a name (i.e. home maintenance), a description (that indicates what the board is about), a category (i.e what kind of board is it), a cover (photograph for the board) and any collaborators that you wish to invite to the board. If you don’t have a cover, don’t worry, it will generate one for you from all the different pins that you pin to the board.
- Don’t forget to add those all-important hashtags in the description (ie #homemaintenance #fencepanels #garden #improvement etc.). If you need help with this, click here.
- Hashtags are very important in helping people find a product /service/ your business or whatever they are looking for. Whenever you write a pin, make sure you enter as many relevant hashtag’s and don’t forget to add your business name (ie#homeguideexpert).
- If you are using Pinterest for personal use (i.e. no business-related activities), you will not need to comply with any advertising/affiliate/influencer guidelines below.
- If your board contains purely selling/advertising/affiliate links to products and services, ensure the board complies with the ASA Guide. Click here to download the guide.
- The new ASA Guide states that you must be clear that it is an “AD” before the person clicks on any link.
Pins
- When generating a pin, it needs a good picture/photograph, a title (i.e What are the best fence panels), a brief description that indicates what pin is about and a destination link (i.e. the website that you want to direct the reader to). Don’t forget to add those all-important hashtags in the brief description (ie #fence #fencepanels #garden #improvement etc.). If you need help with this, click here.

Keywords and Hashtags
Using keywords are very important in helping you raise your monthly viewers. When you name your board or a pin, try to find a good title that says exactly what it does and what you think people would put in a search to look for it.
Hashtags are a must with Pinterest. You can find out what trending hashtags are at the moment by clicking here.
The amount of content you place on each board is what will determine how Pinterest helps you.
Once you have generated your boards/pins
When you have generated all your boards/pins, use the 80/20 rule.
The 80/20 rule is to post other people’s content 80% of the time, and your own content 20% of the time. I love this because I love helping people anyway! If you help people on Pinterest to find what they want, Pinterest loves you for it and it raises your profile!
If you are using Pinterest for business purposes, it takes time to generate content. So in order to continually raise your profile by sharing other people’s content, it will naturally raise your own profile.
I take a little time every day to look at other peoples pins and boards and see if their content could fit in with mine. Personally I love the concept, we are all in this together to share helpful information, and along the way, you might just pick up some lovely followers or be invited to collaborate on other peoples boards.
As long as you are complying with the above, there is absolutely no reason why your monthly viewing figures will not increase. In terms of business, it has helped my monthly viewing totals skyrocket because I actively look for other peoples content to fit with my boards.
If you have any content that you would like to share on any of my Pinterest boards whether it personal or business-related, please do get in touch. If I can help you with anything else, please let me know!
Good luck on your mission to raise your profile. I wish you and your business all the best!
