This week has seen more decisions being made and some very major changes to the conversion.
We decided to have the loft windows in the bathroom sandblasted. You can have them obscured but we did not want a pattern in the glass.
The vented soffit’s were installed. These allow the air to circulate which reduces the risk of damp. This also protects the rafters from rot.

The roof tile delivery arrived.

The roof tiles were lifted by a tile lift to the top of the house and stacked ready for installation.

The dorma was felted and battened.

The rafters were felted, battened and tiles stacked ready for installation.

The fascias were removed from the front of the house.

Heres a video of the front of the house.
Here is a video of the rear.
Whilst the roof was getting some much needed attention, the joinery company began installing the loft stairs. We went with Ingles & Son based in Hertfordshire.
The stair guy (George) arrived.

The stairs were installed over a three day period.

The stair installation was completed.

The insulation is still going up (this does take some time).

The velux windows went in.

Don’t forget to come back next week to see how we are getting on.
Hope you all have a great week!
